PCI is much more common than you are aware. Off the top of my head, I can
think of the following non-PC applications:
Compact PCI
PMC (PCI Mezzanine)
Sun has a PCI bus machine
Mac
The Radstone PPC2 is a VMEbus board which can have any one of a variety of
PowerPC CPUs. It has on-board peripherals which are PC-derived and highly
compatible as well as PMC plugin slots.
The PMC is electrically PCI with a different form factor.
