How to invoke the rtems-monitor-task?

Hi.
       In RTEMS:
       I have made a program that can be download into the I386ex board and use 
the c-GDB to debug it. The monitor running on the 
i386ex board is a GDB-stub with just a litter communication function,
so I can only debug on the C-language level.
     What I want is to debug upon the RTMES level; I mean  to invoke 
the  rtems-monitor-task,and ask it to communicate with the host' debug program ,
maybe that is still c-GDB or something else.
    Now, I can run the program that being download to the target board ,and the 
program complete all the initialization and reach
the "Init", maybe that is the application task! But How to invoke the 
rtems-monitor-task,then begin another higher level debuging process.
     I will be very appreciated at any helpful advise!
