I thought that pretty much all PCMCIA cards had ATAPI/IDE interfaces.
Certainly all CompactFlash cards have IDE interfaces (but can be
configured to be memory or I/O peripherals).

Given that you have an IDE interface then getting RTEMS to boot of a
harddisk could be a proof of concept....
