rtems powerpc tools and linux targets

With very minor effort, I was able to install and
use the rtems powerpc tool chain (linux rpm)
thanks to someone's prior hard work.

And also, without any problems I was able to compile a
Linux kernel, download it and run on my PMC-270 board.

I am however, having problems compiling very simple
Linux user mode executables to run on this kernel. In all
cases I get many link errors.

Is there a FAQ, information, hints...etc for using the rtems tools
to build Linux user mode executables.
