Re: Do RTEMS has a GDB Server?

Hi all,

I would like to know more about the GDB Server inside RTEMS. I read about the work from people at Canon, but I still have some questions:

The first issue is that it includes modifications to gdb which were against 5.x and not directly applicable to gdb 6.x. It would have to be updated.

1) Do this GDB Server works only for Intel and PowerPC BSPs?

It has m68k support as well.

2) How can I enable and use it?

There should be more instructions in the documentation.

3) What are the advantages over a regular monitor software ? (this one is to
convince my bosses ;)

Probably none. :) You might want to consider Till's cexp which provides a more complete solution including dynamic download capabilities similar to the VxWorks monitor.

Till or some other cexp user will have to share how they debug using it.

Thank you and best regards,
