question about capture component

hi,
  I  found /rtems-4.7.99.1/cpukit/libmisc/capture is a "RTEMS
Performance Monitoring and Measurement Framework", but I didn't find
any testsuit or example to use it.
  Is capture component is out of date?
  or the /rtems-4.7.99.1/cpukit/libmisc/monitor can replace capture?
