Access Linux box file system from RTEMS?

Subject: Access Linux box file system from RTEMS?

Hi all,
I'm new to RTEMS. I have a AT697E board connected to my Linux box.
I was able to load/run apps on the board. Is it possible to access
my Linux file directories from the RTEMS app on the 697 board
(need to open some data files and create some data files)?
The only connections to it are the debug rs232 port and the serial 
console port.
