For the record: These are the CentOS 5-built rpms, I was referring to.

This OS is antiquated enough, to be compatible to other "ultra 
conservative" OSes, such as Debian.

On Ubuntu, the situation likely is different. They typically are "on 
par" or "one small step behind" with the versions being used by Fedora. 
There, CentOS5 rpms also will likely work, but chances are some versions 
of Fedora will also do.
