My previous mail had problems with egcs linking. I just had a thought. Maybe it's becuase I tried to use newlib-1.8.1 without any patches. I'll try newlib-1.8.0 with the rtems patches. Hopefully this will work. Is there a way of only recompiling newlib without having to recompile the whole tool chain from scratch ? Thanks, Brendan Simon.
