I've been monitoring the RTEMS community for quite some time now, wanting to participate, but not finding the right opportunity. Finally, I've found the perfect project for RTEMS - with a wee bit of work involved.

The application I am currently working on consists of three Xilinx Virtex-4 FX60 processor/FPGA devices networked together via Ethernet. One (the Master Processor) is responsible for overall coordination, while the other two are identical, essentially data acquisition and analysis processors. For those who are unaware of what the Xilinx Virtex-4 FX60 chips are all about, they are rather capable FPGA devices with two embedded PowerPC microcontrollers and Ethernet MAC devices, along with DSP "slices", and of course, general FPGA logic and memory resources.

So I use the powerpc/virtex BSP, and have been involved with its development the past few years, primarily as a user (and informal tester) of new features.
